World Martial Arts Safety Plan – updated December 4th, 2020 Schools Structure |
● Training Areas (Elimination): We are keeping the training areas as originally divided, 3 meters apart. In order to reduce the number of people, we have virtual zoom training and limiting the number of students in the gym. We have implemented measures to keep instructors and others at least 3 meters apart, wherever possible.
● Low Intensity activities: All members will not have high intensity activity, which causes a sustained and accelerated rate of breathing.
● Online classes: We have a computer set-up to transmit the classes online live for the other students who are at home.
● Booking system: All classes will have pre-scheduled attendance and will be limited to the amount of training areas. We have a special schedule for this and will make sure to accommodate all students who currently have their membership active and want to come to class. The classes are reduced to 40 minutes each.
● Structure of the classes: We will offer Taekwondo and Jiu-jitsu classes. For all classes, we will work on solo drills and techniques such as blocks and strikes, respecting the available space on the mats.
● Front entrance (Barriers and partitions): We have installed a plexiglass panel between the front desk staff and the students. Our front desk staff will be wearing masks and gloves. There will be hand sanitizer in front of the gym and there will be no visitors or a viewing area.
● Cleaning (Administrative): Our schedule allows enough time between classes for the staff members to clean and sanitize the mats and changing rooms between every class. We are also frequently cleaning and sanitizing door handles, door knobs and front desk.
● Rules (PPE): We have clearly communicated these rules to our instructors through a combination of training and signage. We have reviewed the information on selecting and using masks and instructions on how to use a mask. Students Guideline & Policies
● Masks: It is required by Fraser Health Authorities that all members wear mask in our facility. A face shield is not a substitute for a mask as it has an opening below the mouth.
● Stay home if you are sick: If you have presented any symptoms or have been sick for the past days, please do not come to class for the safety of others and your own, our online classes are still available!
● Self Isolate: Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada, must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.
● Signage: We have posted signage at front entrance indicating who is restricted from entering the premises, including visitors and staff with symptoms.
● Wash/Sanitize your hands often: Wash your hands regularly with plain soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content (provided at the school).
● Respect social distancing: Please respect the 6ft distance from the other students and coaches at all times, please respect the marks on the floor for line-ups and the training areas.
● Bring your necessary belongings: Please bring your uniform, gloves or pads, and bottle of water. Uniform is required for all classes, no barefoot allowed outside the mats.
● Staff: All workers have received policies for staying home when sick.
● Respect the booking time: Drop-ins are not allowed at this time. Please arrive at the gym no earlier than 10 minutes before the class to help prevent big line-ups. Please keep a good sense of the time spent inside the gym in general, we all miss each other and want to chat but consider that we have a limited number of students at a time and have to respect the next classes. |
